Price for Innovation Berlin Brandenburg 2014 to Grasse Zur Composite Testing

Grasse Zur Composite Testing recieves the  Innovation Price Berlin Brandenburg 2014 for transfering the shear testing system into application oriented practice. If characteristic material values for technical devices or features are not measured correctly, improper use of materials and severe accidents may result. Using the newly developed shear testing system for determining material values of fibre reinforced composite materials a high quality and reproducible measuring of shear properties can be done.

Grasse Zur Composite Testing enhanced the system for the use in industrial environment and standardised it in collaboration with the German Institute for Standardisation (DIN). The company offers the shear testing system GZ S-80 for sale or provides shear testing services our the in-house test lab. Many clients like BASF or BMW already use the method for developing new materials or quality controlling in the manufacturing of new automobile models like the BMW i3 or BMW i8.

Grasse Zur Composite Testing would like to thank all employees and fellow campaigners who already have and further will help establishing the innovative shear testing system as industry standard. Furthermore, Grasse Zur Composite Testing greatly indebts to the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) where the method has been developed under leadership of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Volker Trappe. Additionally, Grasse Zur Composite Testing would like to thank the jury led by Prof. Dr. h. c. Dr.-Ing. Eckart Uhlmann for the Innovation Price 2014.
